Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, step down as conservator of the multimillion-dollar estate of his daughter. Jamie Spears, the conservator of Britney’s estate from its inception, has decided to resign via a court filing.
His Los Angeles Superior Court filing states that “there are no actual grounds to suspend or remove Mr. Spears from his position as Conservator of the Estate.” Further, “It is highly questionable whether Ms. Spears would benefit from a change of conservator at this point.” However, even though Mr. Spears is a constant target of unjustified criticisms, he doesn’t believe that a public fight with his daughter about his continued service as her conservator would be in her best interest.
“So, although he must contest the unjustified Petition for him removal, Mr. Spears plans to work with both the Court and his new attorney to ensure a smooth transition.”
Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart spoke to TMZ and said they were pleased, but not necessarily surprised, that Mr. Spears has finally acknowledged that he should be removed. However, their ongoing shameful, reprehensible attacks against Ms. Spears, and other celebrities, are disappointing.”
“We look forwards to continuing our vigorous inquiry into the conduct by Mr. Spears and others over the past 13-years while he reaped millions from his daughter’s estate. I look forward taking Mr. Spears’s sworn testimony in the near future. Instead of making false accusations or taking cheap shots at his daughter, Mr. Spears should immediately step down.”
